Yujan Shrestha, MD, was born in Nepal and immigrated to the United States when he was four. Ever since he was a child, he had a passion for medicine, computers, and engineering. He later combined both passions in pursuant to his biomedical engineering degree at UT Austin and went on to complete his Doctor of Medicine degree at UT Houston School of Medicine. Since then, he has combined both of his passions in starting his medical software company, Innolitics, where he leads a team of engineers to solve the most challenging problems in healthcare using software and artificial intelligence. His entrepreneurship is only matched by his desire to help those in need back in his home country. He and his company have sponsored a project to bring affordable patient monitors to rural parts of Nepal, a passion he continues to this day. He is interested in using simple and efficient technologies to improve the quality of life of those in rural Nepal.
